The challenge

Putting on a live event means assembling a temporary workforce and a truckload of kit — sound technicians, lighting, camera rigs, security — usually at short notice, from personal contacts and frantic phone calls. When a position goes unfilled or a supplier no-shows, the show suffers in front of a paying audience.

A marketplace only solves this if it solves trust: organisers need to know who's reliable before they book, not after.

What we built

AKT is a role-based marketplace with four sides: organisers post events with staffed positions (quantities, timings, rates, and urgency flags); vendors list offerings — both services and hireable equipment; staff apply to positions with a full invited-to-accepted lifecycle; and admins run the whole marketplace from a built-in console.

Search is distance-first, the way event staffing actually works: radius, availability, and a minimum reliability score. Applying to a position automatically opens a chat with the organiser — with read receipts and typing indicators — so the conversation starts the moment the interest does.

Trust runs through everything: Gold, Silver, and Bronze verification tiers on every profile, reliability scores fed by booking history, and reviews that only unlock after a completed order — rating professionalism, quality, and communication, with a 'would hire again' flag. On top sits an operations layer: every event gets a live risk score and traffic-light staffing coverage, so organisers see gaps before the doors open. A moderation queue and audit log keep the marketplace safe.

The outcome

AKT turns event crewing from a phone-around into a marketplace with trust built in — organisers see who's available, verified, and reliable within range, and the operations dashboard shows exactly how covered every show is. Delivered as a complete four-role platform, it's now moving toward launch.
