APX Digital becomes digital sponsor of Cheshire Roar with new club website
We've built Chester's women's and girls' basketball club its first website, and we're proud to be Cheshire Roar's digital sponsor.

Cheshire Roar, Chester's women's and girls' basketball club, has a new website at cheshireroar.co.uk. We designed and built it, and we're proud to be the club's digital sponsor.
A club worth backing
Cheshire Roar was founded in 2020 and is run as a Community Interest Company. Its women's team competes in the Manchester Area Basketball League's Women's Premier Division, alongside an U15 girls' team and junior sessions for girls aged 7 to 12.
It's exactly the kind of club we want to support: volunteer-run, growing, and giving women and girls a place to play, compete and belong. Being their digital sponsor means the club gets a proper online home, built and looked after by people who care how it works.
The club's first website
Until now, the Roar lived on Facebook and Instagram. That's great for match-day buzz, but fixtures, training details and news get buried in a feed within days. The new site gives everything a permanent home:
- Fixtures and results, filterable by team and home or away, with a calendar feed fans can subscribe to so every game appears in their own calendar.
- Teams, news, and join and training information, so new players and parents can find what they need without sending a message.
- A photo gallery organised into albums. We brought across more than 400 photos from the club's archive, covering games and training from 2024 to 2026.
- A contact form that sends messages straight to the right people at the club, with a friendly reply to the sender.
It's built to look like the Roar, too: black and gold, bold and loud, with the lioness badge front and centre.
Built for volunteers
A club website is only as good as how easy it is to keep up to date. So the Roar's committee has its own admin to add fixtures and enter scores, post news (or schedule it for later), upload albums, and update teams, sponsors and page text. Changes appear on the site straight away.
Photos only go live once a committee member has confirmed consent, including parental consent for under-18s, and location data is stripped from every upload automatically.
The best sign it's working: since launch, the club has been adding its own albums and updates. The gallery now holds 459 photos.
Back the Roar
Grassroots clubs run on volunteers and local businesses. In the club's own words: "As a community club we rely on volunteers, coaches and local businesses. Sponsorship helps cover court hire, kit and coaching, and keeps the game affordable for every girl who wants to play."
The club's sponsors, including CEMEX, are credited on its home page. If your business would like to get behind the Roar, you can get in touch through the club's contact page and choose "Sponsorship".
And if you're in Chester and fancy giving basketball a go, find out how to join.
